Ingredients

  • 40 saltine crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 11 ounces white chocolate chips
  • ½ cup candy canes (crushed)

Method

  1. Preheat the main oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Use the saltine crackers to line a 15x10x1" baking sheet and put it to one side.
  3. Over moderately high heat, in a small pan, melt the butter.
  4. Add the sugar and while constantly stirring, bring to rolling water. When the mixture comes to a boil, remove it from the heat.
  5. Pour the mixture over the crackers and transfer to the preheated oven for around 10 minutes, until the crackers are caramelized and browned.
  6. Scatter over the white chocolate chips, and set aside for 6-8 minutes, until melted.
  7. Using a spatula, spread the melted chocolate evenly over the saltine crackers, and scatter over the crushed candy cane.
  8. Allow the white chocolate to set and store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
