Ingredients

  • 4 ounces (113 ml) eggnog
  • 2 ounces (60 ml) hot, fresh espresso or strong coffee
  • 1/2 ounce (15 ml) sambuca (optional)
  • 1/2 ounce (15 ml) premium egg yolk liqueur (optional)
  • Whipped cream, for garnish
  • Ground cinnamon, for garnish
  • Grated nutmeg, for garnish
  • 1 cinnamon stick, for stirring

  • Method

    1. Steam the eggnog until it has doubled in volume.
    2. Pour the eggnog into a tempered Christmas glass or mug.
    3. Gently pour the espresso down the side of the glass into the eggnog.
    4. If using the liqueurs, gently pour them into the finished beverage.
    5. Scoop a dollop of whipped cream onto the top.
    6. Dust with cinnamon and nutmeg.
    7. Serve immediately, with the cinnamon stick.
