Ingredients
- Simple sugar syrup, for garnish
- Sugar, for garnish
- 1 1/2 ounces (45 ml) dark rum
- 1 1/2 ounces (45 ml) coffee-flavored liqueur
- 3–4 ounces (90–113 ml) cold espresso or strong coffee
- 8 ice cubes
- 2 ounces (60 ml) half-and-half or coconut milk, for garnish
- Dip the rim of a chilled martini glass into a small, flat dish of simple sugar syrup.
- Then quickly dip it into a plate of sugar, coating well.
- Shake the rum, liqueur, espresso, and ice in a martini shaker.
- Strain into the sugar-rimmed glass.
- Top off with a splash of half-and-half.
