Ingredients
- 1 (12 ounces) box Chex-style breakfast cereal
- ¾ cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 (12 ounces) bag white chocolate chips
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 1½ cups confectioner's sugar
- Gold sanding sugar (as needed)
- Large star sprinkles (as needed)
- Edible gold star sprinkles (as needed)
Method
- Add the cereal to a bowl and put it to one side.
- Over low heat, combine the peanut butter with white chocolate chips and coconut oil in a pan. Cook while occasionally stirring until the mixture is smooth and melted.
- Transfer about 3 tablespoons of the peanut butter mixture, and transfer to a squeeze bottle. You will need this for drizzling.
- Pour the remaining peanut butter mixture over the Chex-style cereal and mix gently to well and evenly coat.
- Working quickly, transfer the coated cereal to a large brown paper bag.
- To the bag, add 1 cup of confectioner's sugar. Seal the bag and shake to coat. You may need to add another ½ cup of sugar and shake once more.
- Pour the coated cereal over a large baking sheet.
- Working very quickly to prevent the coating from drying too quickly, drizzle the remaining coating in the squeeze bottle over the top.
- Decorate with gold sprinkles and edible gold stars.
- Set the puppy chow aside to set while on the baking sheet for 15 minutes.
- Transfer to a bowl, add more gold stars and enjoy.
