Ingredients
- Sugar
- Water
- Simmer equal parts sugar and water in a saucepan for about 5 minutes, until the sugar is totally dissolved.
- Stir constantly. Do not allow to boil.
- Cool thoroughly and store in a covered jar in the refrigerator. The syrup can be kept refrigerated for up to 1 month.
- Many espresso martini, coffee cocktail, iced coffee drink, and dessert recipes call this ingredient “simple syrup.” Other common names include “sugar syrup” and “bar syrup.”
