Ingredients
- 1/2–1 ounce (15–30 ml) orange-flavored syrup or liqueur
- 1 whole clove
- 1 small piece of orange peel
- 1/2–1 ounce (15–30 ml) rum
- 2 ounces (60 ml) hot, fresh espresso or strong coffee
- 4–6 ounces (113–170 ml) steamed milk
- Whipped cream, for garnish
- Grated orange peel, for garnish
- Place the orange-flavored syrup, clove, orange peel, and rum in a small saucepan.
- Heat gently, just enough to warm the liquids.
- Remove from the heat and discard the clove.
- Add the espresso and pour immediately into a tempered glass or cup.
- Slowly pour the milk into the espresso mixture and stir gently.
- Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with grated orange peel.
- Omit the rum if you prefer a nonalcoholic beverage.
