Ingredients
- 1 cup (250 ml) cold espresso or strong coffee
- 6 ounces (170 g) crushed ice
- Carbonated mineral water or soda water
- Pour the espresso over the crushed ice in a chilled tall glass.
- Fill the rest of the way with carbonated mineral water.
- Stir to blend.
- 1–2 ounces (30–60 ml) each of light cream and chocolate syrup may be added for sweetness.
- Prior to the invention of Coke and Pepsi, it was very fashionable in Italian bars and European cafés to order flavored fizzy beverages made of coffee and sparkling water!
