Ingredients

  • 4 ounces (113 ml) milk
  • 2 ounces (60 ml) hot, fresh espresso or strong coffee
  • 1/2 ounce (15 ml) cognac
  • 1/2 ounce (15 ml) orange-flavored syrup or orange cream liqueur

  • Method

    1. Froth the milk until it is doubled in volume, steamed, and foamy.
    2. Pour the espresso into a cappuccino mug.
    3. Pour in the steamed milk, then dollop the foamed milk over the espresso in the mug.
    4. Add the cognac and orange syrup, and stir gently.
    5. Serve immediately.

    6. Variation

      1. Irish cream syrup may replace the cognac, for a nonalcoholic recipe.
