Turkish Coffee

The trick here is to brew coffee in the Turkish style using a special coffee pot called cezve. It uses no milk and offers an intense flavor with nice foam. Check out the process.

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup water
  • 2 heaping tablespoons extra fine ground coffee
  • Sugar to taste (optional)

Method

  1. Add water, coffee, and sugar into a cezve (Turkish brewing pot) and mix until coffee and sugar dissolve. Do not stir coffee again after this point.
  2. Place cezve on a stovetop over medium heat and brew for 1 to 3 minutes or until coffee rises and foams.
  3. Just before coffee starts boiling, remove from heat and skim foam on top into serving glasses.
  4. Return coffee to fire and let slowly foam again.
  5. Slowly pour coffee into the serving cups while allowing foam rise to top.
  6. Let coffee settle for a few minutes and serve.
